This is not a one step submission
Be prepared to spend some time before sumitting to Yahoo. They have certain
guidelines to follow, and you have to submit your site to a certain category.
Be sure your site is in tip top shape before submitting. Read all the information
they provide before submitting, the time you spend will be well worth it
if you are rated in their top listings for your category.
Alta
Vista
Submit your site to AltaVista,
certainly one of the major player. They accept your URL only and then their
robot comes out and indexes your pages within a couple of days, or so they
say.
HotBot
Submit your URL and email
address. Approx. 2 weeks until it is in the index. They have a couple of
URLs after you submit about improving your position, etc. that would be
worth reading.
Jayde Online
The submit process asks
for Name, email, URL, and a description, so have your description ready.
It also has you choose a category. Allow 3-4 weeks for your site to show
up. They have plenty of online information about the submitting process.

InfoSeek
Plenty of details at their
page explaining the submit process.
AOL
NetFind
"When you submit a URL,we
add it to a list of sites to be indexed. We index sites every two weeks."
Plenty of details here about their engine too.
We have one site that has
done quite well and gets more hits from this engine than the other ones!

Plenty of instructions here
too. You might be sure you use the right input box, as there are several
on this screen.
WebCrawler
Webcrawler like many of
the others indexex on the content of your page. Allow about 2 weeks. They
have plenty of info to read at the submission site.
Excite
Another big player, they
can result in many hits, especially if you can hit the top 10. Two weeks
after submitting to be indexed. Much like the others in that respect.
Cornish Search Engine

to this site. According to the info its ok to submit to even if you are
