Hello and welcome to our regular edition of PROMOTE!
A lot to say this week, so bear with me..grin.. as we are
going through growing pains and change (we hope) for the better.

The archives are showing even more ever increasing numbers as
they are being read online.
More exposure for those of you who have posted listings here.

Welcome to the 40+ new subscribers! A special edition was
planned but a disk crash unexpectedly put that on hold.
Thank goodness for good backups. There will be a second edition
this week though for sure. We have a backlog of 90+ listings
so if you have not seen your listing yet thats why. Its just
a matter of time. One thing we do now, is mix our listings
in order to give you a good mixture and not just all one type
of listing. That might delay a listing depending upon the
type listing it is.

FYI:
After my last issue of PROMOTE! the other night
I was going through some of the previous issues. As I
scan the posts and clicked on the links, I realized how
temporary the net must seem to some people. Some were sites,
some were zines, lists and what have you, and some were GONE.

About 1 out of 3 links were no longer any good. This was less
than 3 months ago. The net has its own life span I guess just
like life does. Some are long lived, some are short lived, some
are good, and some just ain't worth crap! And the net continues
on just like life does, someone dies and they are missed but
life goes on. A site dies and may be missed (maybe not) but the
net goes on. Food for thought: We get out of our life what we
put in it. We get out of our net site what we put in it. If
you have a site, think quality for long life. Otherwise you may
just end up another forgotten "dead" link. Wonder if there is
a dead link cemetary out there?

Tip of the week:

If you have a CD-Rom drive, you can speed up the boot process
of your computer when you first turn it on by leaving the CD-Rom
drive empty. Its obviously not harmful if you do leave a disk in
the drive, but the drive when booting will attempt to read the
disk during the boot process, slowing down the starting of your
computer.
