This Week's FYI:
Its been quite a week and its only monday. Several invitations
to participate in some ad swaps, which brings me to comment on
spam.

Do ya'll get as much spam as I do?
Does it drive you as batty as it drives me?
I get 100 spam messages a day sometimes, much less the other
hundreds of email I get.

One offer this week was to swap ad space
in return for a mailing to a safe list of people wanting offers.
I was tempted, but decided against it. Certainly I want PROMOTE!
to grow in subscribers but would rather it be done on the basis
of people wanting and subscribing through their own choice.

I want people reading PROMOTE! because they either enjoy it
or find it useful and informative for their newsletters or
web sites. If you have a newsletter feel free to use any info
from PROMOTE! (within reason of course...grin) and all I would
ask is that maybe you might include a mention of us in it. If
you have a friend or friends that you think would enjoy our
newsletter please feel free to pass it on to them, just don't
spam them with it....grin....

If you have a site and feel inclined to include a link to us
please do. The means above are through which I want PROMOTE!
to grow. Not by throwing it out in front of people by email
that didn't want it in the first place!

PROMOTE! is growing every day, and with very very few people
unsubscribing. To all of you I thank you for reading PROMOTE!
and will continue to try to make it a quality, informative
publication. Thanks to each and every one of you who have
written with the great comments. I have tried to respond to
everyone who has written, if I missed you I apologize.

Tips:

There seems to be a lot of confusion today about email viruses.
Text email messages cannot contain viruses. The text part
of a message is just ascii text, and if read, can not contain
a virus or do damage. Period. The danger comes in when you
receive an email message with an attachment, even then there is
no danger unless you execute the attachment which could
contain a viruse. Use caution when running attachment files
sent to you. Personally if I don't the person and there is an
attachment, I just delete the message. Period.

When doing backups you can create a folder just for partial
backups. Then in Windows Explorer you can choose a whole folder
of files, copy that folder by right clicking and choosing copy,
then highlight your backup folder, right click and choose paste,
and the files and folder will be copied all at once. You now
have a backup folder with each individual folder under it that
you backed up.
